Vancouver, B.C. - The Final Week of the Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ was exciting from start to finish. Check out the full game recaps below as we end the decade. For the FULL WEEK 7 PHOTO ALBUM head to the Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ Facebook Page.

Shaun kicked off The Party with a hop in his step and back-to-back 3s.  Shams joined the 3-point party to join Shaun with 4 three's each to take The Party to a 46-33 lead at the half.  The Party keeps on rolling and runs away with a 12-3 run to start the 2nd half.  It's all Party all the time and their team combined for sixteen 3s and starting a trend that would take over Court 1 all night.

Shaun (The Party): 26 points (six 3s), 4 rebounds, 3 assists

Ryan Shams (The Party): 19 points (five 3s), 5 rebounds, 2 assists

Jacob (Huskies): 27 points (seven 3s), 5 rebounds

Magnus (Huskies): 14 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist

Ahmed (Huskies): 6 points, 16 rebounds, 1 steal

Despite the final score, this game was entertaining.  The Agaveros struggled to hit on offence (Stallions had 10 blocks on the night - 5 by Jitt), but even their usual tough defense couldn't stop Matt "Mad Man" Madewan.  Matt isn't back to his 65 point game level, but clocked in ten 3s (10/18 after a cold spell in the 4th Q).  Roger was feeding the hot hand to rack up 10 assists.  It's madness that a quiet night for Prince is still 23 points and DJ Daryll had his best game yet with 15 points and 6 steals (clearly inspired by the great playlist rocking from the score table), but Matt stole the spotlight tonight with 36 points.

Matt (Stallions): 36 points, (ten 3s), 3 rebounds, 2 assists

Prince (Stallions): 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists

Roger (Stallions); 15 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals

Daryll (Stallions); 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 steals

Miguel (Agaveros): 18 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal

Pepe (Agaveros): 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 steals

First Half: Week seven tipped off at court 5 with a solid effort from The Bulldogs right off the tip, Mindy had a great first half with 10points, 6 boards and 2 steals to lead the way for the Bulldogs to a 39 – 18 lead at the half.

Second half:

Joe Lin had a great second half to push the Banana Boat Crew back in the game scoring 15 points to lead the way for his team. Harrot answer back with a huge half getting in the easy buckets in the paint, Harrot had himself a night with 31 points and 6 rebs to give the win for the Bulldogs 80 - 48 over the Banana Boat Crew.

Rice Farmers came out of the gate swinging, Cole had a great first half scoring 9 points from behind the arc, giving a 10 point lead over All Trouble, Bowen gave a good effort to bring All Trouble within 5 points to close the half.

All Trouble adjusted their game and they came out of the second half playing very well. Tyrone had a stellar game scoring 35 points, 4 rbs and 3 assists. He completely changed the pace for All Trouble and despite the effort of Garth and the Rice Farmers they couldn’t stop the great effort from All Trouble which gave them the win to go into the holiday break. Final score 84 – 76 for All Trouble.

Kahwi So Srs played very well in the first half playing solid defense and getting second chance buckets, Gurjevaan, had an amazing first half scoring 25 points which 12 of those came from behind the three-point line.

It was a very close game all the way through, both teams battled in the second half but Alban had a great game for Kawhi So Srs grabbing 4 steals to go along with 24 points. Royce heated up as well in the second to help Mandem get the victory scoring 22 points just in the second half. Final score 84 – 81 for Mandem.

Crazy Pigs get their first dance on Court 1 this season and Alex, Fan and Hawk led their squad valiantly to 4 point lead at the half.  Demonstrating great ball movement the Crazy Pigs open the 2nd half with 9 unanswered points, then Mark put on a show by stringing together plays at both ends: nails a 3, gets a block and steal to keep his team ahead 51-35.  Pigs moved the ball so well, that Netflix couldn't even catch them to foul; zero team fouls for 17 minutes. Crazy Pigs do well on the feature court and take the win 59-46.

Jaden (Crazy Pigs): 16 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal

Fan (Crazy Pigs): 11 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist

Alex (Netflix): 14 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal

Thomas (Netflix): 10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal

Mark (Netflix): 10 points, 13 rebounds, 2 steals

The Buddy Guys would take a default win over Money $hot who was unable to play - but would get a exhibition game with the All Canadians.

Buddy Guys 129 - All Canadians 99

Buddy Guys may be one of the friendliest teams in the league, but they watched the Stallions show prior to their game and decided to try and out-do them.  Antonio call "offense only" as the game plan and proceeded to hit fifteen 3s on the night to beat out Matt's 10.  Brandon "Ball So Hard" Hoyem was an absolute beast on the boards and cleaned up 24 boards.  Newcomer to the All Canadians was Kenny who put up great numbers, but Buddy Guys were on a mission and couldn't be stopped.  JD had one of his best Metro League performance with 33 points and 4 blocks, but it was the Antonio show.  Bobby did claim the deepest 3 of the night, but the night belonged to Antonio and his 51 points.

Antonio (Buddy Guys): 51 points (fifteen 3s), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal

JD (Buddy Guys): 33 points (seven 3s), 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 4 blocks

Ravi (Buddy Guys): 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals

Brandon (Buddy Guys): 14 points, 24 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 1 block

Kenny (All Canadians): 34 points, 9 rebounds

Rusty (All Canadians): 15 points (five 3s), 3 rebounds

The All Canadians would win what could be the game of the season in double OT on a game winner from Rusty as time expired. The game was back-and-forth all night long with neither team being able to create separation on the scoreboard. Omid Toussi would lead the way for TTP with 30 points and 8 rebounds. For the All Canadians AJ led the way with 23 points, but it was Rusty who starred in the OT with a step-back three and the game winner.

The Shamgodz would rely on a heavy dose of size and teamwork to get the Win over the OT Bandits. With a short bench, all players would reach the scoreboard for the Shamgodz behind 14 points and 7 rebounds from Russell and a double double of 11 points and 12 rebounds from Mike Tomlinson.

Jason would have another strong performance for the OT Bandits with 19 points and 4 rebounds, but the depth of the Shamgodz was too much to handle.

Teams head into the holiday break before returning to the Richmond Olympic Oval on Monday January 16th for Playoff Action. Games start at 7:00pm, 8:00pm, 9:00pm, and 10:00pm.
