Vancouver, B.C. - Get to know Metro League Captain of The Huskies, Jamal Mullings.
Q1: What year did you first join The Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ and how many seasons have you been a part of to date?
A1: My first year with the Huskies In Metro League was Winter 2018. Since then, I have played 2 full seasons and I am very excited to play more.
Q2: Being a team captain, how did you put your team together?
A2: As team captain of the Huskies, I recruit guys who play and train with the Huskies in the summer, and also give opportunities to our top tier high school players who are preparing to play at the University level.
Q3: What’s your relationship with teammates? How long have you known them / how did you meet them?
A3: I’m pretty close with my teammates - we’ve typically met through competing in camps and showcases together. Basketball is a brotherhood, so real hoopers know and respect other real hoopers on the scene.
Q4: How does The Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ and the game of basketball bring you and your team together?
A4: The Vancouver Metro Basketball League is a tremendous experience and opportunity. Every Monday, the atmosphere is on point and you know that there’s going to be a battle. Metro League gives players like myself the opportunity to continue developing our craft and competing at a high level.
Q5: Of all the leagues in the city and in the lower mainland, why choose The Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ to bring your team together?
A5: I’ve played in quite a few leagues and tournaments in Vancouver, and Metro League hands down has the highest tier of players. Tons of former college and university players combined with elite tier talent. As I mentioned before, every week is like a playoff game, and I look forward to showing up and putting on a show.
